Entering the Museum of Natural Sciences you are welcomed by the luminous installation FORESTA GIARDINO (FOREST GARDEN), which forms the pivot around which the museum layout revolves, a place where nature meets culture.
e Forest is the free and wild environment par excellence, while the Garden suggests the intervention of Man, the organization of elements and study.
Both terms tell of a process which underlies scienti c research, the passage from the mysterious to the known, in an attempt to enhance all of the components of nature.

e Museum of Natural Sciences of Domodossola seeks to immerse the visitor in an environment in which the balance between the place of origin of the natural elements and the finds that are being investigated here is re-established through contemporary art, and therefore with the permanent interventions I conceived. e walls of the Museum have been painted with colours which represent the transition from day to night: pink and pale blue, light blue, orange, blue and dark blue. As in nature, we fitness the sunrise and the sunset, with a slow motion that leads towards the night and a starry sky.

In the intrados on the stairs, climbing to this floor, and on two walls of the Museum, I intervened on pre-existing plasterwork, highlighting small portions of sky and coloured stars made from ceramic.

Entrando al Museo di Scienze Naturali si viene accolti dall’istallazione luminosa FORESTA GIARDINO, che è perno intorno al quale ruota l’allestimento del museo, un luogo, in cui la natura incontra la cultura.
La foresta è l’ambiente libero e selvaggio per antonomasia, il giardino invece suggerisce l’intervento dell’uomo, l’organizzazione degli elementi e lo studio.
I due termini raccontano un processo che è alla base della ricerca scienti ca, ovvero il passaggio dal misterioso al conosciuto, nel tentativo di valorizzare tutti i componenti della natura.

Il Museo di Scienze Naturali di Domodossola si pone l’obiettivo di far immergere il visitatore in un ambiente in cui l’equilibrio tra il luogo d’origine degli elementi naturali e i reperti che qui sono oggetto d’indagine è ristabilito attraverso l’arte contemporanea e dunque con gli interventi che ho realizzato.
Le pareti del Museo sono dipinte con colori che rappresentano il passaggio dal giorno alla notte: rosa e azzurro pallido, azzurro chiaro, azzurro, arancio, blu e blu scuro. Si assiste, come in natura, al sorgere del sole e al suo tramonto, con un lento movimento che conduce verso la notte e a un cielo stellato.

 

Nel sottarco sulle scale, salendo su questo piano, e su due pareti del Museo, infatti, sono intervenuto su intonaci preesistenti facendo a orare piccole porzioni di cielo e stelle colorate, realizzate in ceramica.
